In summer 2010, Set & Drift collaborated with Turista Libre and Sezio for a bicycle-powered street art tour of Tijuana and San Diego, to coincide with Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego’s incredible city-wide installation Viva La Revolucion. The museum’s exhibition featured works both inside the museum galleries, as well as at public sites throughout downtown San Diego — involving an impressive international lineup that included Akay (Sweden), Banksy (U.K.), Blu (Italy), Stephan Doitschinoff [CALMA] (Brazil), Dr. Lakra (Mexico), Shepard Fairey (U.S.), Invader (France), JR (France), Barry McGee (U.S.), Ryan McGinness (U.S.), Os Gemeos (Brazil), Swoon (U.S.), and many others.
The weekend tour was split into two rides — one country on each day — and 150+ cyclists experienced urban art installations adorning both sides of the border the way they should be – on bike. The SD ride also corresponded with Bike to the Museum Day at MCASD’s downtown location.
