About the Founders

Sean & Stacy Kelley share an attraction to forging opportunities for creative innovation. With a fine art background, Sean’s creativity carries over to his professional work as a graphic and interactive designer.

Having studied sustainable business practices, as well as art+architectural history in Vienna, Stacy merges creative endeavors with work as a design & business consultant for architects, designers, and cultural institutions.

Southern California natives, the two met in Seattle in 2002, became foodies in the San Francisco Bay Area, then moved back down to San Diego in 2006, where they joined forces with fellow creatives and launched Sanctuary143 in 2007, which grew into Set & Drift in 2009.

Set & Drift curates art and design exhibitions and events. We advocate interdisciplinary exchange and bring together a diverse network of international artists, designers, and craftsmen.

We are modern storytellers. We create scenarios to showcase the ideas and work of creatives through nontraditional formats and venues. Blurring established boundaries, we use the many curious expressions of art and design to introduce something unexpected into the everyday experience. We believe this sparks conversations that inspire cultural innovation.

The name Set & Drift originates from terms for the speed and direction of the current under a sailing ship. We navigate the cultural landscape, inviting the unforeseen to carry us to sought-after uncharted territories.
